A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE PROJECT

The SisPorto Project started in 1987, with the creation of the “Porto System” for computer analysis of FHR signals, by João Bernardes, Carlos Moura, Joaquim Marques-de-Sá and Luís Pereira-Leite (J Perinat Med 1991;19:61-5. Pubmed)

The first version of the system for Windows was renamed SisPorto® 1.0 and appeared in 1995, created by João Bernardes, António Garrido, and Joaquim Marques-de-Sá.

SisPorto® 2.0 was completed in 1997, created by António Garrido, João Bernardes and Diogo Ayres-de-Campos (Eur J Obstet Gynecol Reprod Biol 2004;117:174-8. Pubmed).

A multichannel version with real-time alerts was created in 2002 by Diogo Ayres-de-Campos, Paulo Sousa and João Bernardes, and  commercialised in 2006 by Speculum, Lisbon, under the name Omniview-SisPorto®. (J Perinat Med 2008;36:260–4. Pubmed)
